What’s new in PHP 8?
I am not going to talk about PHP 8 features in the post. I would like to tell the world about still PHP is alive and It will be there ever. Still many people are discussing in many forums “Why should we learn PHP? Is it still worth it?”
I already wrote an article about it. (https://www.phpscriptsonline.com/why-should-we-learn-php-is-it-still-worth-it/), Yes answer is YES.
PHP 8 will be released on November 26, 2020. It’s a new major version, which means that it will introduce some breaking changes, as well as lots of new features and performance improvements. Right now PHP 8 is in feature freeze, meaning no new features can be added anymore.
Because of the breaking changes, there’s a higher chance you’ll need to make some changes in your code to get it running on PHP 8. If you’ve kept up to date with the latest releases though, the upgrade shouldn’t be too hard, since most breaking changes were deprecated before in the 7.* versions. And don’t worry, all these deprecations are listed in this post.

I hope hereafter people will stop talking about this topic “Why should we learn PHP? Is it still worth it?” 🙂
